Guidelines
This link list is specifically designed to be useful for researchers on contemporary Middle East issues. It is intended as a selective--not an all-inclusive--guide, including only the most useful or interesting sites. The goal is to save researchers time and to help them find the places which furnish the most data in the shortest period of time. A huge number of additional sites, of course, can be reached through the links of those listed here.
To qualify, sites must have significant Middle East content and orientation. Sites with significant material in English are given preference though, of course, these provide links to materials in Arabic, French, Hebrew, Turkish, Persian, and other languages. Sites which are frequently updated--if relevant--are preferred. Sites are preferred if they contain actual texts rather than just lists of staff members and publications. Individual homepages are only included as sources of non-redundant links. In many cases, if a specific site is not listed separately, that is because it is easily available on a related and listed link page.
Inclusion in this link page does not signify support for the views or goals of any group, nor does exclusion imply the opposite. In case of overlapping sites, the one offering the greater amount of material and links is preferred.
